The room was really clean
The food was really bad, it is good for a city trip becasue it is close to the metro so perfect for the airport and the city center but bettter have dinner or lunch in town
Location was alright, near Metro
Room leant forwards, bed was broken, a draw was missing, not the best room,
staff were very friendly
it said breakfast was served until 9 and i went down at half 8 to find they were not serving any
The reception staff were very nice and talkative. The hotel was easy to find and was unpressured by any staff. The rooms were clean with clean linen.
The bed was awful. It creaked even when putting a suitcase on it. Sleep was difficult due to the noise of the bed whenever you moved or shuffled. A more comfortable chair instead of a dining chair would have been nice. I paid for a continental breakfast, but got cereal and toast, and a selection of yogurts. No breads, cheese, meats or tea offered. No one expected me for breakfast on the second day, and the chap serving was the porter or maintenance guy. He shouted on entering the kitchen ' Theres another one now' so felt very valued.
Nothing!!! I will never repeat such mistake and advice others not to (staying in Whites Hotel). Very dirty carpet, towels + bed sheets needs desperate attention (the charity shop will reject it), impossible to close bathroom door. I asked for a room in a quite area, I was given a room just over the outside section of the bar where the residents and other hotel guests enjoy their drinks day and night. When I rejected the room I was given other room beside the stairs where I failed to sleep till 2 a.m because the stairs cracks whenever a guest come up or down the stairs.
I call this Deception because the hotel is nothing like what you advert in your website. The dirty worn out carpets, towels, bedsheet and covers , the small bed are disgusting. My question and complain are :why you ask the potential guest in the application form what he/she prefer? I made it clear I need a quiet room and I was given the most disturbing annoying rooms in the hotel. If I have stayed in a hostel I might have enjoyed my stay in New Castle.
Nice hotel with very friendly staff. The room had everything you would expect and was kept clean throughout my stay.
room furnishings were crap, bathroom stank breakfast was awful
The bar was pumping out music until about 11pm, which hardly makes for a good night's sleep. If this is what it does then your website should state this very clearly - as should the hotel before they accept your booking.I could also hear somebody shifting barrells about outside until quite late.
wonderful helpful reception staff, i was able to check in early and nothing was too much trouble even for guests from other hotels. the hotel is ideally situated to access the metro links to city centre . Bar prices very reasonable. the full english breakfast was excellent value
the only down side was the tv in the room wasnt very good - a small issue as i didnt spend much time in my room.
Amenities in the room were adequate (although the advertised Free Wi-Fi was nowhere to be found in our room). Great location.
When they say their bar is popular, they aren't lying - it's packed until half 11 or later. Unfortunately, with the popularity of the bar comes noise, and combined with the lack of acoustic insulation, serenity isn't one of the hotel's strengths. Guests were screaming in the halls, banging on doors, and basically demonstrating their intoxication until well after 4 am. So while this may be an ideal location for those who enjoy student hostels but want private rooms, avoid at all costs (at least on the weekends) if you're looking for a place to sleep. Alternately, bring earplugs. But at the rates the hotel charges, you're probably better off elsewhere.
Good reception staff
Needs a face lift.Bar closed on return around 11.30pm
The rooms were non smoking and you could tell they had been smoked in, also not as clean and tidy as they could of been. Rooms we're also very noisy could hear the room next door very clear
Quick and easy access to the City centre and the breakfast ( which although was an extra charge ) was excellent value for money
Very good location in the heart of a busy well kept area.
Room was very basic, discarded rubbish from previous occupants still in room. Other guests very noisey, running around hotel banging on all the doors as they ran past(obviusly a stag doo?)
room was clean, tea and coffee facilities were good, as was the free view tv.
The noise from numerous young men (or students) staying, unfortunately their noise kept me awake most of the night. Whole property needs refurbishing, paintwork tatty and grout in shower had mildew.
